ABOUT ME

Jennifer Fitzgerald
I live in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, having lived previously in various parts of the UK and Europe.
I have enjoyed a varied career. I trained as a translator and have worked as a fundraiser for an overseas aid agency, in marketing financial services, and in leadership and management development. I am an experienced trainer.

I started to learn taiji nearly twenty years ago and have trained in several different styles. This has included hand forms as well as weapon forms such as sword, sabre, spear and fan. My classes are based on the Yang style.

I am qualified as an instructor with the Deyin Institute and have been registered as an instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain. I undertake continuing professional development with the Deyin Institute and other Taiji and Qigong masters from the UK and Europe. I have trained in China several times.

When I am not teaching or studying Taiji, I enjoy walking in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
MY CLASSES
I hold classes for students of different levels in Leyburn, Richmond and Swinton Estate (members only), North Yorkshire, on Mondays and Tuesdays.
NEXT BLOCK OF CLASSES
My next block of classes for complete beginners starts on
Monday 5th May
Classes last for one hour.

I charge £8 for each class and ask students to pay for a complete block of 6-7 classes in advance, payable online via Eventbrite.

The many benefits Taiji brings only come through sustained practice. It requires learning a sequence of movements so that students can perform them from memory for themselves. Students are therefore encouraged to practice in-between classes in their own time.

Students need to confirm that they are medically fit and physical capable of participating in class. The level of exercise is about the same as brisk walking.

Please see Class Guidelines for more information.
Please contact me if you are interested in joining us so that I can discuss your application with you and send you a registration form and payment details.

OTHER EVENTS
We enjoy getting together for occasional social events, e.g. to celebrate Christmas or the Chinese New Year. We also mark World Tai Chi and Qigong Day every year with other groups of Taiji students in Yorkshire.

There are also opportunities to broaden our knowledge and experience by attending workshops and seminars held by other teachers.
FREE TASTER EVENTS

I regularly hold free 'taster' events so that prospective students can learn about Taiji and our classes before signing up.

I can provide you with information about these upcoming events if you sign up for my mailing list.
